Tips For Chosing The Perfect Character Cake Pans

If you want a special cake for your kid’s birthday, you can go to a bakery and order something. Special cakes often run high in price though, and if you want to save some money you can attempt to make one yourself. If you aren’t that skilled, like me, you do have a way to make things much easier. You can get character cake pans and make something you like. You don’t have to limit yourself to what you find in the store if you only find a few from which to choose.

I tried this myself, and I was stuck for a bit. I looked at the character cake pans they had in my local craft store, and they only had a few things. I stood there staring at them as if willing more to appear, when an idea popped into my head. Just because one of the character cake pans was of Winnie the Pooh, that didn’t mean that I had to decorate it as such after baking. I could use the icing to make it any bear I wanted to make. Nothing against Pooh of course, but my daughter isn’t all that interested in having him on a cake. A teddy bear, on the other hand, would have been perfect.

They also had other character cake pans there that you can use. There was Thomas the Train and Blue from Blue’s Clues. There are a lot of children that like these characters, but not every child will choose them for their cake. You could easily use their character cake pans to make a train that is not Thomas, or a dog of any sort. You may even be able to turn Blue in Clifford if you use red icing and a little trimming. You just have to use your imagination to see what you can come up with from what you have in front of you.

On the other hand, if you can’t find the character cake pans that you want, you can use the generic ones to come up with what your child wants. I saw a car pan that could have easily been used for the Wiggles’ Big Red Car, as well as regular shapes that could be decorated any way you see fit. You can make a special cake all on your own, and you may just need to find the right character cake pans to get you motivated and excited about it.
