Tips For Chosing The Perfect Charcoal Grill
|
|
My husband wants us to get a gas grill next year when summer comes back around, but I have my thoughts on this. Though they are convenient, and most foods taste great when cooked on them, I still prefer a charcoal grill when it comes to cooking outside. I know they make more of a mess and are harder to deal with, but nothing beats the taste of a steak or burger cooked over charcoal. There is also the added expense of getting charcoal, and the extra trips to the store, but for some things, the extra effort is worth it.
You can usually find a charcoal grill at a very cheap price, and perhaps that is why I have always had one. My parents have a gas grill, and I do like it, but I still like the charcoal flavor much better. I guess you can buy chips to put inside a gas grill, but I still don’t think it tastes quite as good. A charcoal grill is something that won’t last forever, but they don’t take much to replace, and they are much easier to take with you when you go camping. We have taken them with us when we go eat year, and I can’t imagine pulling a gas grill along with us.
You can spend ten dollars to get a decent charcoal grill almost anywhere, but you shouldn’t to expect it to last too long. If you spend more on one, you can expect to keep it for more than one year. You can get a charcoal grill that sits on the ground, or you can get one that has legs so you don’t have to set it upon anything to cook with it. You can get some with lids, and some without. It is really up to you. The more you spend though, the better quality it will be. Some rust out before a year is up, and others will be good for five or even ten years.
If you want the taste of a charcoal grill, but want something that will last and is easy to use, you can get a gas grill that will give you what you need. You can get the taste with special chips, though it won’t be the same. For most people though, that is close enough so long as they don’t have to mess with the dirt and hassle of a charcoal grill when they want to cook out. The gas grill is superior when in a hurry and for longevity.
